Summer Swim Season #17

This was my seventeenth season of summer swim. It’s starting to get a little exhausting. Two times Tyrone took the girls so I could go rowing instead. I love what summer swim does for my kids: powerful swimming, lots of friends, cheering, singing, late night celebrating, community -  but I don’t need to be there every minute.

Runner’s Camp

Blythe did a week of Runner's (and jumping, hurdling and throwing) Camp.

Downtown Raleigh

Scotia’s best friend Isabelle is in town for the week. On Saturday we did our annual trip to the Dix park sunflowers, ate lunch at the Transfer co food hall and then stopped at a plant store and art gallery on the walk to get our favorite gelato.  Took cute pictures of course!

July Fourth in the Poconos

The girls and I drove up to Pennsylvania for the long weekend. Is this our third year in a row? Blythe loves the doggies.

Adventure Weekend

Tyrone took the big kids on an adventure weekend to celebrate Jaxon graduating. Four wheeling was a big hit last year so it had to be re-done.  (In fact when I was getting a Barcelona spring break briefing from Taye I asked him where he wanted to go next... I thought Paris or something but he said, "four wheeling")

Play for Messiah

Messiah was killed one year ago. Tyrone, Jaxon and Blythe went to visit his grave.

Swim weekend

Scotia had a weekend swim meet in Richmond, VA.  We left early Saturday morning and returned late Sunday eve.  I love watching her compete.  But I can't say I was thrilled when she made finals in the 100 Free on Sunday.  It meant waiting around for an extra seven hours and getting home really late.
