Football for Taye

Survived first game!               (Taye in black on far right)

Football

This is the perfect week to announce that both boys are now playing football. Ugh! I finally agreed to let them play with hopes that after a few hard hits they would want to quit. No luck. In fact Jaxon scored two touchdowns in his very first game and he is in love - this brilliant and kind and cute boy was made for football. Taye was promoted over the summer to the senior swim squad and is trying valiantly to juggle both sports. His first game is this weekend. Praying for a safe end to the season....

TGI Sunday Night

Whew what a weekend!  If I had a "word" for this year it would be embrace. Embrace this chaos, embrace this stage of my life. It won't last forever I keep reminding myself.  Friday eve we went to the kids school carnival plus Taye's football practice.  We were finally home, had kids in bed and Tyrone was just lying down when his phone started to ring and he got called into work. He got home from a gunshot trauma resulting in death in the early morning hours.  I was up a few hours later and out the door to run with Emily (7 miles like I own the greenway!)  and bring Jaxon home from a friends house.  Tyrone took Taye to a leadership mtg, Jaxon to a football game, picked up Taye from meeting and took him to football practice, back to Jaxon's game where he had just missed Jaxon's first touchdown.  Luckily he was there for the second.  As soon as Jaxon was done playing he got changed and Tyrone dropped him off at a friends birthday party. I got h...

Help

When I tell people the ages of my kids they always say, "oh, you have lots of help!" It's true.  I have great help. Scotia loves to play with Blythe. Taye is always willing to hold her, give her a bath or play with her for a little bit. And Jaxon?  He's the CBMO - chief baby morning officer.  When the kids started back to school and Tyrone back to work last January I'd get up and get Taye out the door to his carpool ride, make lunches, help with breakfast and tidy up and Jaxon got up with the babe and fed her every school morning.  He is a baby pro!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 38th Anniversary Mom and Dad! Married first Then baptized Wedding reception at home.  I now have that dining table, that rocking chair and the little drop leaf table in my house.

Haircuts

All of a sudden the boys want to grow their hair out. I don't like it so I bribed them for fresh cuts! Totally worth it.  They put up a good fight - but no match for my ice cream buying power.

Is she cute or what?
