Summer life

Still riding horses Blythe started fifth grade.  The last first day of elementary school for a Brown kid.  Next year will be the first time since 2006 I won't have an elementary school kid.  A crazy sunny rain storm.  The video is like sparkles falling from the sky.  Blythe and I have increased our Sunday walk from a neighborhood wander to a 3 mile hike through the woods.  They both do great!  Came home from the gym and Blythe was practicing spelling words and Scotia was working on an art project.  They are so capable...  School friend came over and they baked a cake... I supervised from the living room couch but they needed almost no help from me.  Yay!  Trying to go to bed and girls have to talk... Taye is killing it at school, straight A's last semester. Still lonely and hard but getting it done.  More hiking.  Girls finished summer swim team.  Jaxon working at grocery store.

Learning to fish

Tyrone took Jaxon on an afternoon fishing adventure... Jax heads back to Junior year of college this week.

Scotia Swim Travel Trip

Scotia had a swim team travel trip to Orlando, Florida.  She had such a great time - personal bests in a few races and loved, loved hanging out with friends and her favorite coach of all time.  The sun rises and sets on Coach Rachel. The last day they went to Universal Studios and Scotia rode on lots of roller coasters.  Scotia bought this flag on Amazon and then took it to Orlando to hang up in her hotel room all week. Girls!  She has been a traveling kid this summer.  So many flights by herself.  She is working a few lifeguarding shifts, doing some post summer swim team coaching and getting ready for her senior year of high school!

Nova Scotia - Surfing and Kedji Adjunct

Kids took surf lessons at Summerville Beach and then jumped off the bridge.   Courtney, Dad and I hiked out to the Kedji adjunct.  One of the most beautiful places on earth.  Also, such an easy hike without kids.

Nova Scotia - Ice Cream Selfies

Obligatory ice cream selfies at the Quick Way.

Nova Scotia - Eastern Points Kayking

We drove up to the location and it was like a freakin postcard!  So gorgeous.  We paddled around the islands of Eastern Points and imagined when they were the busy (but secluded) fishing villages of years past.  Kids taking a dory to the little one room school house or a series of wooden bridges connecting islands. My mom's family would have settled in this area back in the 1700's...  Kids had lots of fun splashing each other.. Quick stop in Lunenburg harbour on the way home
