Five Brown Kids

Isabelle flew down to spend a few days before Scotia headed back to school. A fun way to end the summer.

Tyrone picked up Taye at 1 am and we were up at 7 finishing last-minute paperwork online (NCAA docs before he can participate in college sports), washing clothes and packing the car. Taye had to be on campus at 10 for a sports physical so Scotia and I drove him down while Tyrone took Blythe to soccer and finished Taye's laundry.  Then he drove down with Jaxon too.

Tanner’s family invited Taye on their family vacation to St Thomas! Lucky kid !!! He had a fun and relaxing time. Loved fishing best and a day of island hopping via chartered boat. He got home with time to sleep for just a few hours before up and out the door for university!

Courtney’s son Riley was in town over the weekend with his boyfriend who was doing a research project for university. We went out for dinner at Brewey Bhavana. So fun to hang out and visit. I love that kids grow up into friends.

Blythe was ready for all day activity and I was super ready too. It’s been a long haul getting four little well spaced brown kids through toddlerhood and I’m ready for a little space to breathe during the day... Blythe said her first day was amazing and no bad things, only good!  This cutie was made for school! 

I loved this trip to Nova Scotia with my dear friend Courtney.  It was so fun to take a friend to my home town and show her all around.  When we started planning I was going to drive to her house and then we would catch the Portland, Maine ferry just six hours away.  US customs is giving the ferry system to Nova Scotia lots of grief though so we ended up having to get on the ferry in Saint John, New Brunswick - 11 hours from Courtney's house.  It ended up being lots of driving but I loved just having my two girls and Tobias to keep track of and a friend to talk to.
