Five Brown Kids

Scotia had three friends over Saturday for a kid party. We went to the tree top adventure at blue jay park and it was awesome. Girls all loved the zip line best. We grabbed dinner and dessert after and then came home to play. Easy planning, easy execution, super fun.

Tyrone and I and Scotia had birthdays this week. On Sunday we had friends over for soup and salad and cake. The kids disappeared after supper leaving just grownups at the table. I love that my house has room to play. I loved having 20 of my favorite people all around our table singing happy birthday.

BYU had a football game in North Carolina this weekend. James and Laura Trinnaman came out to watch Jonah and we got to hang out with them for 48 whole hours. It was such a treat. They have been making us feel loved for 20 years - and now doing the same for my children. We went for a walk at the lake, ate yummy barbecue and the girls did tons of crafts.  Tyrone, Rob and Jaxon got to lead the football team into the stadium carrying flags. The high light of a very sad game...  Loved catching up with Jonah after the game - he is such a stellar kid!      

Blythe’s preschool had a before school donut party with dads.  Yum! 

Blythe is obsessed with horses. Her preschool teacher shared the following exchange. Blythe, “ Can I have more water?” Teacher, “What’s the magic word?” Blythe, “Horses” 

Jaxon is killing it in football. Lots of good runs, lots of touchdowns. He looks so confident on the field.  It's fun to watch him!

Last weekend Taye helped out with a meet for the younger kids and got to time behind a block with Ryan Held (former NC State swimmer and Olympic Gold Medalist in the 200 relay)  Guess who had the fastest 50 free time their sophomore year of high school? Taye berry. Although Taye is quick to say that means nothing - Ryan took off his junior year. Hoping Taye does too - he had one Division I university coach text him the first day of recruiting and then call to talk with him- and Taye's coach had a few schools call him too. This past weekend the senior swimmers had a weekend retreat at Camp Seafarer. Taye gets to do the coolest things. 

I took Blythe to the storytelling festival at Oak View Farm and we spent most of our time with the goats. The next week we went to Heritage days and she got to ride a pony and go on a horse pulled wagon ride. Blythe loves animals.

I love the annual bluegrass festival downtown. This year I took Isabelle, Scotia and Blythe down in the afternoon to watch my favorite band Scythian. I don't think the girls are as anamored as me. Later I went back to the dance tent and had a fabulous time dancing with the crowd. I still have a smile on my face. Love this city I am so lucky to live in.
