Seriously?

Last Saturday, less than 24 hours after passing the exam of his life Tyrone had a car full with missionaries and Taye on the way to a ward move when he was hit by a driver in the parking lot of the apartment complex.  No one was hurt but Tyrone's car was a little banged up.   He is "thrilled" to be driving a rental mini-van this week.  He loves his car as much as he dislikes minivans. The insurance covering the repair sends us daily photo updates.   I don't think it helps....

Running for office

Hello friends  I am running to be head of transportation for Mr C’s Class. I know that I will  be good at this job because i’m friendly, responsible and fast  - so you don’t have to wait too long to get lunch.   In preschool I was an excellent line leader so you can trust that I will get you where you need to go! If you pick me I promise that I will let every one pick one peace of candy from my halloween bag. Why didn’t the skeleton cross the road???      Because it had no guts.  I have lots of guts to lead you anywhere! Thanks for your time.  Jaxon Brown (He had a little post promise regret - wishing he hadn't offered to give away 17 whole pieces of Halloween candy... ) Remember this?

Happy Birthday Scotia!

We had a little birthday party for Scotia with our neighbor friends.  It was a school theme.  I managed the play dough center, snack time, pumpkin craft and the cupcake decorating center.  Jaxon handled story time and Taye and Tyrone managed the recess/balloon chaos center. Scotia loved a box of pink legos.  (Why has it taken until 2012 to realize that girls like legos too?) Just for fun you might like to know that I got a text from Tyrone saying that he had passed his board exam toward the beginning of the party.   I whispered to each of our kids that dad had passed and then got back to party business.  Tyrone came home and stepped right in to help.   Post party we celebrated with pizza at the park and Fresh Berry .  It was a great birthday all the way around.

All grown up

2012 - A football loving Trinnaman boy, all grown up. 1998  - On the field with Tyrone.

Silver Lake: Part Two

Part One

Silver Lake

Saturday afternoon of our Utah trip we headed up in the mountains with the Trinnamans.  Up American Fork canyon, off on a paved side road, past two very busy lakes, onto an insane dirt road (I had to hold my breath a bit for fear of sliding off the mountain) and to the loveliest little secluded mountain lake.  Tyrone says the background in the pictures is almost so perfect it looks fake - but it was very real.  We finished the day huddled around a campfire with hot dogs and s'mores and a lot of silliness.  A perfect time with people we love.   A few more canyon and campfire pictures from Laura - Thanks!)

Home to the motherland

The kids had fall break so we headed home to Utah last week.  We did everything I love about Utah - here's a photo recap. Day 1 Visited Pauline and Willie's work so everyone could see the grandkids.  Pauline's office is a shrine to her kids and grandkids including a 2 foot by 3 foot Costco ad with a baby Taye picture.  Taye's response?  "Seriously?" Baby Taye is going to haunt him for a long time....  Hiked the Y in the rain with a few clouds hanging low on the mountains.    Scotia tried on every pair of Grandma's high heels. That's a lot! We met up with the Trinnamans at their kids high school.  Tyrone watched Jonah at football practice and then we all watched Taran's marching band performance  - it was awesome!  The Trinnamans have three seventh grade boys.  Taye and Jaxon were in heaven! The American Fork Temple is just to the left of the field.  Quite a sight when the sun is setting....
