Another Pullen park adventure

With best friends. Blythe will smile on command now. So cute!

'Reppin the Y

The boys went on a guys trip to see the BYU football game in DC.  They had a great time...cafe rio, sightseeing and front row seats.

Beach getaway

Emily watched our kids all weekend again so Tyrone and I could get away. We went to Topsail and relaxed. So awesome - always a bummer to come home and face life again...  We rented kayaks from PaddleNC and spent two hours paddling through the sound. One of my favorite outings ever!  Also beach, pool and biking...

Hike along the lake

Taye climbed trees until they bent over. We let Barbie float down the stream and then saved her..  I am much happier taking care of my kids outside.

Thank you for saving my life

Over the summer Tyrone had one of those cases you hope to never see.  He had a patient who delivered a baby via c-section and then started to bleed out from an amniotic fluid embolism. They had already sewn her back up when they started to realize something was really wrong and then the surgeon had to open her back up and do a total hysterectomy.  It was one of those cases where you can't possibly take notes, or keep supplies organized.  Just getting as much blood into the woman as he could and any drugs that could possibly help.  Eventually an ambulance from one of the big trauma center hospitals came to pick her up.  Tyrone assumed she would die, but a tortuous 24 hours later he got a note from a co-worker that said the mom had survived.  And then 2 months later this short little text - a picture of the mom on a hospital bed smiling and this simple note, "Thank you for saving my life."
