High school swim

We went to the swim banquet this week. Scotia lettered for her freshman season of swim and was all conference academic. Plus a paper plate “legacy award” for being the little sister of Taye Brown. Can’t escape that!  I loved watching Scotia have so much fun with this group of kids!

Greenway pictures

I pass a lot of regulars on my greenway walks and one day stopped to talked to a gentleman always on his bike with a big camera. He shared his photo site with me and I’m posting a few of my favorites here so you can see really great pictures of the greenway animals I love.  Herons are my favorite.  And there are so many!

The end of basketball

The high school season is over for Jaxon and he has decided to attend a big division 1 university over playing ball at a small division 3 college.  Competitive basketball has come to an end - although for sure he will play ball for the rest of his life- just for fun now!  They lost the conference championship game by 1 point!!  And then lost the first state playoffs game by one point. Ugh.  A disappointing end to a hard fought season.

Hangman

In Scotia’s Earth and Environmental Science class they sometimes play hangman at the end.  One day a classmate used this as the secret sentence.

Senior year photo shoot

Just photos of a handsome kid to remember his senior year of high school.

Winter life

Took the neighbor kids on a hike around the lake.

The term was coined by Harvard University psychiatrist Chester M." ***********  At a cul-de-sac get together a few months ago a kind neighbor asked me how Jaxon was faring after the death of his best friend. I said that he was doing as well as we could hope for considering.... And then the neighbor said,  "It's a good thing Jaxon plays basketball, it keeps him out of trouble."  (As if grad parties with nice kids in a neighborhood pool house is "trouble'') Imagine if I turned the table on my well to do European American neighbor.... "Bob, so sorry to hear about the terrorizing incident at that graduation party.  You're so lucky Katherine plays soccer and wasn't there - soccer really ...
