Thanksgiving at home

First high school swim meet of the year

An unfortunate incident

Blythe and I had an unfortunate incident at a downtown park last Sunday.

The next basketball star

Blythe is playing her first season of basketball at the YMCA and called the boys because she really, really wanted them to come watch her play. Saturday morning Taye called and said they were on their way.  Eight year old girls playing  basketball are so cute… they travel a lot, they dribble around in circles, the passing still needs work.  Taye yelled out at one point, “stay out of the paint”, and then looked at me and smiled… maybe that was too technical… “go girls!”

Travel Trip

Scotia's swim team had a travel trip to South Carolina.  Scotia loves hanging out with all her swim friends and she's becoming known for her ever present water gun.  I love to see her work hard and have so much fun away from home.

Dreamy Fall Day

Blythe and I had the perfect fall Saturday. It was 80 degrees and sunny - and in mid-November that feels amazing! Tyrone was working, Scotia was in South Carolina on a travel swim meet so it was just us. We went to Georgia’s baptism first. Followed by some basketball for Blythe, lunch, a stretching session for me (with lots of help and conversation from Blythe) and then a City of Raleigh Arts Fair at Fletcher park. Blythe climbed trees while I shopped. Made it home by supper time super happy and worn out.  She's a good 6 inches taller than everyone else.

Cranberry Coconut Macaroons

Oh my goodness!  I made cranberry sauce for Thanksgiving and saw this recipe on the back of the bag.  I had just enough cranberries left to whip these up and if you love coconut and cranberries as much as me you will love these!
