PB & J Flow Chart

One of Blythe's assignments this week was to watch a video of her teacher making a PB&J sandwich, then to watch instructions on how to make a flow chart, make the flow chart with pictures and labels and then make her own video. Here is the result.  So cute! This kindergarten flow chart reminds me of the standard operating procedure I am documenting for a new PDU/PI checklist I designed at work...    We are learning at kindergarten and work together...

Woodland Forest

I finished Blythe’s room before the pandemic and forgot to post on the blog. The woodland wallpaper is my favorite- all the animals from the woods behind our house right on her wall.

Pandemic Survival

Seven of us here. Four kids have home school. Tyrone still goes to the hospital... I am working from home. Here’s how we are surviving...  Lunch time bike adventures on the greenway with this explorer

This sucks

We are in the middle of the carona virus pandemic of 2020. Four weeks ago who could have imagined? We Browns were all sailing along so happily. At a lunch a few weeks back I told a friend that since I had started working full time I was legitimately 50% less stressed, maybe even 80% less stressed than ever in my parenting life. The weight of entertaining/driving/feeding/cleaning up after kids all day was gone. Kids were all busy and happy with school and swim and basketball and dance and soccer. Tyrone was helping with after school and dinner. I had interesting things to do all day. It was dreamy...

Hair

Taye came home for spring break. Everyone else had work and school so he had a week planned of chilling after he turned in this writing assignment.

Work

This is a work update four months in! I am so happy to be working.  Two things I love about it. Number 1 - I'm not home all day watching kids.  I loved taking care of my kids and house - I hope that was obvious!  I gave it 150% effort for a very long time (almost two decades) and I was just kind of worn out and bored.  I didn't want to spend the day at the park watching kids play or try to think up things for a bored 6 year old.   I didn't want to be home trying to clean up after everyone and drive them all around.  I was just tired of it.  And now I get up and help kids get out the door to school or camp and then I leave.  And when I get home Tyrone has cooked and picked kids up and wrestled Blythe and all other good things.  I only need to attend basketball games or help with homework and tuck kids into bed.  Which I'm happy to do after I've been gone all day.
