Blythe and Jaxon celebrated the big 5 and the big 15 last weekend!!! They requested ice cream cakes so Scotia and I hunted down some recipes and then created these masterpieces. They were baked, frozen and assembled by Scotia and tasted super.
This is Jaxon's first year of high school basketball team. He made the junior varsity team (even though there is a ninth grade team) so he is playing with all sophmores. He is a starter and plays the entire game except for a few breaks to catch his breath. He is scoring between 10-20 points a game and getting a few 3 pointers most games. It is so fun to sit on the bleachers and be his parents and watch him play. Two things I want to remember. 1. Christmas is coming. Blythe got to talk to Santa and Scotia is diligently moving the elf every day. The office got a new desk with room for two and lots of display shelves. Still need another chair and a cozy rug.
My brother John and his wife Carrie and their four kids drove down from Michigan to visit us for Thanksgiving. I had a great time! Loved watching all the cousins get along so well. And so many funny moments with people playing Scattegories and ping pong and basketball. We ate on Friday because Tyrone was on call on Thursday. Cleverly’s came over too- delicious dinner of course but we missed the Ricks. Cousins
Emily and I tried to figure out a combined birthday party for Scotia and Isabelle. We were going to take some friends to a local craft shop to paint tote bags but couldn’t make it work with all the schedules. Then Emily suggested we just use our money and send the girls to see Hamilton at the Durham Performing Arts Center. Everyone loved this idea! Last Friday we dropped the girls off at the theatre and then Emily and I went out for a long dinner ( Luna - so good!) and dessert while the girls got to see their show!
