Pat on the back

A few weeks ago Scotia asked me if Tyrone might have gone pro if he didn't get hurt playing football at BYU.  I said that I guessed he might have- he had a few teammates who did.  She was intrigued imagining what it might have been like being rich. We talked about what we would have had more of if we had been "rich".  Maybe a bigger house, or fancier food.  But then we all agreed that we really had plenty of healthy food, a warm in the winter/cool in the summer house, lots of trips to Nova Scotia/Utah/beach/DC etc.  They all did lots of extracurricular activities and we had the best friends ever - spending hours and hours and hours playing inside and out with all the kids in the neighborhood. We had family friends that made every holiday really fun.  And then at the end of the conversation, Jaxon piped up, "It's like we were rich." A few days later Taye agreed that the Hedingham years had been exceptionally good, full of wonderful memories - just a ...

Brown Family 2017 Video

I'm super late with this video.  My laptop is nearly dead and it took me more than a few months to figure out I could use the desktop computer to finish it. So without further ado, The Brown Family 2017 Video.  365 days condensed into 30 minutes.  It looks exhausting and it was!  But I love my Brown Family. Fresh Friday: Caramel Dip

Last weekend we had a little birthday party for Tryone and me.  I purchased fresh Pink Lady apples from the farmers market.  (My favorite apple any time of year, but fresh off a tree, into a basket and for sale the next day is to die for!) I sliced a bunch up and served with this caramel dip and it was a hit.  The favorite food of the party by far.  I ended up replenishing the apple plate several times. Caramel Dip 1 cup brown sugar 1 stick butter 1 cup corn syrup 1 can sweetened condensed milk Bring to a boil, stir for two minutes. Pour over popcorn (no seeds) for yummy caramel popcorn or into a serving bowl and let cool for apple dipping.

Menus

I just filled another menu/grocery shopping book and tossed it but took a few pictures first to remember what we ate in 2017/2018.

Panic point

Scotia went to panic point with friends. She went through the haunted forest, the dark trail and the hay ride. I usually think of Scotia as pretty cautious but sometimes she just shocks me!

Committed

After the BYU visit Taye was certain he wanted to go to ECU. He called the assistant coach he’s been working with and gave his verbal commitment. Then he came upstairs to tell Tyrone and me that he is a new pirate!  So excited for his future! Love that magic Taye smile!

BYU Swim recruit

Taye did a weekend swim recruit visit to BYU. He had a great time catching up with family and friends, watching a college swim meet, going to the football game, staying overnight in the dorms and eating at Cafe Rio. Such a lucky kid!
