The day after Christmas the kids and I drove up to Pennsylvania to hang out with the Ricks.
We stayed at a condo nearby. The boys went snow boarding with Matt, Tobias and Andrew each day and the girls and I hung out with Courtney walking the dogs, shopping, and a day in New York City.

They were so intrigued by the ice.

And me too. Such interesting shapes right on the edge of the river.

Parked in New Jersey and took the bus into the city. Standing room only.

Times Square was packed. Shoulder to shoulder as the evening wore on. Also Courtney is crazy and I am boring. It’s a good match.

I got a standing room only ticket for Chicago and it was fantastic. Girls saw The Christmas Carol.

The tree at Rockefeller Center. This picture was right outside the security protected J Crew entrance, otherwise is was a madhouse trying to get a picture.

The boys are now very competent snowboarders... going on the most challenging black diamond runs. Taye says snowboarding is the most exhilarating feeling ever!

The bus stop in Jersey is under a bridge and is a little spooky.

Cafe Rio on the way up and back. Still a favorite. I loved spending so much time with my kids while driving. We talked, listened to lots of music, the kids played lots of chess on their phones. They banter back and forth but clearly have so much love for each other. It makes me really happy.
