Taye had prepared so hard for this YMCA Short Course Nationals and it showed. He had a killer week and dropped significant time in every event. (Finally made it into the 20's for the 50 free. He's been a tenth of a second off for two years now) Coach Jamie is in charge now and it shows - she coaches Taye to be fast!

His best race was prelims for the 100 Free. He was ranked 17th going into the race, but they circle-seed the prelims so he was in the final heat. I saw him dive in and them come out of the water right on track with everyone else and then he just kept getting faster. He made it look effortless. Third place finish at a national meet is pretty sweet. And a junior national cut is pretty nice too. Taye came up to find me in the stands after the race. So nice! (At finals that evening he placed fifth)

Congrats, Taye! That is an amazing performance.
