Football season is over and only one broken bone so it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be - if you don't count the psycho screaming, yelling and swearing parents. (There is a reason there is a City of Raleigh police officer on the field for every game and it's not for the kids)
Jaxon's team made it to the Super Bowl and lost 7-6. Jaxon made the only touchdown for his team but they couldn't get the extra point. His school PE teacher came to watch. The post season lunch at the buffet restaurant Golden Corral was the icing on the cake. He talked about how amazing it was for two days straight. You can just get anything you want?!?!
Taye's team got killed in the playoffs but Taye had an awesome tackle. One of those parallel to the ground flying tackles to take out a runner headed for another touchdown. He's back to swim full time but loved his football adventure.
And the broken bone? Wasn't a boy. I was up on the hill near the bleachers walking Blythe around holding on to my hands as is typical for most games - she let go to take a few steps and then fell forward on the pavement. I picked her up and cuddled her til she stopped crying but later in the day noticed she wouldn't put any weight on her left arm when crawling. Called the pediatrician, some xrays, a fractured wrist, another cast and here we are. Two broken bones before her first birthday. Ouch!
She can still crawl army style, will walk if it's only a few feet and she has something to pull up on to get started and the cast makes a wonderful loud noise when she bangs it against anything hard. She is one tough- but fragile- cookie.

ReplyDeleteBlythe will hold the family record for that one!
She doesn't look too disturbed about it all. nana
Oh my gosh! That poor baby. She's such a sweetheart. I hope it heals quickly!
