School is winding down. Taye took his last End of Grade/End of Class test today and is giving a big sigh of relief. First year of middle school, done.
Jaxon and Scotia's classes are practicing for the talent show every day. It's a big deal!
For an end of school assignment Jaxon's class is paired off and teaching/reviewing concepts learned over the year. Today two students taught about rounding and then gave the teacher a test. Mr. C handed in his test with a big note on top - Math stinks like a fart! and he only scored a 3-. Jaxon loved his slightly irreverent and totally fun teacher this year and me too.
Taye had the same teacher last year (he switched from 5th to 3rd) and one day I was at the school as the day was winding down. Mr C was out playing knock out with some kids at the basketball nets and he was totally into it. The final bell was ringing, kids were lining up for the bus and the game didn't stop. I have known very few teachers who actually play with kids instead of sitting on the sidelines bossing everyone.
Since homework is pretty light now we biked down the greenway after supper. Stopped at the falls to watch some men fish. An older man offered us (in spanish, so I'm guessing at the translation) a big old catfish to take home. We declined :-)
