Done with Elementary School!

Blythe graduated from elementary school. She's ready to move on to the next big thing for sure.  Such a capable and independent kid!  EOG scores were fabulous.   Fifth grade pool party last week.  Last morning of early drop off to help with carpool.  Graduate! The two fifth grade teachers are best friends and their classes did everything together. A few weeks ago at the mall she saw this desk (that matches her dresser) and instantly knew she needed it for writing and drawing.  Tyrone and I ordered it together and surprised her with it after graduation. Last carpool ride home. End of an era for me.  After 19 years non-stop I no longer have an elementary school kid.  Just in time!  I turn 50 in a few months!

Graduation Celebration

Scotia planned a graduation party with her three favorite school friends.  They had a spread sheet with plans and sign ups and all I had to do was order baby pics for her table and then help her pick up food the day of.  Tyrone helped her make the big balloon arch and she made the charcuterie table and a candy table too.  Lots of family and friends showed up and Scotia had the happiest evening just hanging with her favorite people.  Scotia's work.

Annual Father's Day Cook Off

The kids did their annual Father's Day Cook Off. Jaxon won this year and he will be teasing Scotia about it until the next one.  She is not happy. ( 2024 , 2023 ) Jaxon made Blueberry Wonderland - a fancy take on Bo'Berry Biscuits. In the video he is telling Dad that he worked on the recipe for months perfecting it.  Actually just found it on TikTok the morning of. Blythe made a Zesty Lemon Cake. I helped her find a vanilla cake recipe (and then left) and she did everything else - including modifying it to make it lemon flavored, setting up her own pans, and taking it out when it was done, making icing, adding lemon zest (I recommended the mint).  Blythe has entered the grown-up world of cooking! Scotia made her own version of Whole Foods Brown Butter Cookie Caramel Crunch Cake .  She still can't believe she didn't win.  I helped Blythe get started on her cake and then ducked out to hang with Mark while the kids spent time with grandparents and dad. ...

Four down, one to go!

Number four out the door.  Just one more to go!  ( Derick , Taye , Jaxon )   Such a gorgeous girl.  She looked stunning.  Scotia said it felt a little anti-climatic.  She was expecting to be more emotional.  But it was fun and now she's swimming, working and getting ready for university.  We grabbed donuts after really quick and then Scotia had to go to work.  Later in the evening we all went out for supper (just the six of us) and I brought a t-shirt quilt with all of Scotia's childhood activities.  ( Jilly Bean Sewing )
