Two days of winter

It snowed!  We were really worried we were going to go the whole winter without any...  but then we got this beautiful dusting!

Happy Valentines Day!

It was a fun Valentines weekend. Tyrone helped Blythe pick out her cards, write names on them and decorate her box for school. First time in a very, very long time I haven’t had valentines responsibilities. Jaxon and Scotia took treats to hand out to friends at school. Taye went on a fancy date with Anna. I helped him make reservations a week ago and Taye had acquired all the necessities for a successful evening - flowers, vase, a borrowed car etc.    They posted a first picture on Instagram announcing they are sort of together... Taye tells me two things about Anna. She’s chill and really easy to hang out with and she’s super smart.  (I note here that she is also beautiful- that’s a given, right?) That makes Taye want to keep up- and it shows! Last weekend he came home for 30 hours to relax and unwind and eat healthy food and he was busy editing a paper and taking practice math tests the whole time. I hope Anna hangs around for a long time!  Tyro...

Catching up

Tyrone still works.

Long weekend

Emily and her kids came to visit for the long weekend. Scotia and Blythe loved having friends to hang out with the whole weekend. We all went to Jaxon’s basketball game. They jumped at defy gravity, made Tik Tok videos, ate at Moes, jumped on the trampoline, had a rap battle (which ended in tears when Scotia told Blythe she couldn’t do hard rap) and the big girls went to a movie.

Wake weekly

This is a note I want to remember. Jaxon is a cool guy. Right hair (big Afro), stylish clothes, varsity basketball. But after the last game when he came out of the locker room Blythe ran to him, reached up and grabbed his hand and he held it the whole way out of the gym...

Final home swim meet

The Browns, Scotia, Blythe and I headed down to Taye’s last home swim meet of the season. Tyrone was on call.

ECU swim training trip

Taye's swim team had their annual Christmas training trip in Jupiter, Florida. He flew down straight from skiing to meet up with his team. They swam at an outdoor pool all week which was amazing  - fresh clean air to breathe, not too hot or too cold. Swimming outside is fun! Taye said it wasn’t a vacation though. Hours of training everyday. Nice location but lots of work!  Taye has so many wonderful opportunities. Such a lucky kid.
