Farm days

One of my favorite activities each year. Blythe loved it all - the tiny, soft chicks, the big jersey cow that peed, the warm, furry lamb and of course the cup of ice cream at the end.

Princess dresses...

Not my favorite. But to each his own. I think Blythe is a great combination of princess and tomboy. And she loves noodles!!

Almost spring...

Winter Weekend

We spent another fabulous winter weekend with the Ricks in Pennsylvania.  The boys got to go snowboarding for two days and got in enough hours to start feeling competent.  Taye loves snowboarding!!! Courtney and I got to go into the city to see the Broadway Show, Come From Away .  It tells the story of all the planes and people who were grounded in Gander, Newfoundland, during 9/11.  I cried and laughed and felt a bit homesick for Atlantic Canada.  It was my absolute favorite Broadway show!  You must see it! Blythe loves dogs and is perfectly fine having a total makeout session with Rupbert.  How is she my child? Sunday afternoon we got to hang out at the water park which is always fun.  The Ricks are so good to us!  Cafe Rio on the way up and the way back.  Always a favorite!

Poe health center

No cute picture but just to let local folks know - if you have a pre-teen plan on taking your child to the Poe center   parent and child, Girl Talk or Guy Talk puberty class. It was exceptionally professional and informative. Everything I would have wanted to know when I was a kid. We went in a big group with a bunch of friends from Scotia's class at school. Afterwards we all went out for lunch and it was easy and perfect and not at all uncomfortable. Highly, highly recommend.

Ode To Public Schools

Just this week: I spent 30 mins with a high school counselor reviewing college readiness details with Taye so we make sure we are checking off every box. I took Blythe in to preschool services for a pediatrician recommended speech assement with a teacher and case manager that lasted one hour.  She will go back in a few weeks for a complete evaluation with a speech pathologist, a psychologist and other trained professionals - at no cost to me.  If she needs further help the school district will provide it free of charge.  Taye finished drivers ed this weekend - for the highly subsidized rate of $60 he got 24 hours of classroom instruction and 12 hours of hands on driving instruction from his school. Middle School Mascot This school year: Jaxon played school football and basketball this year and had uniforms, equipment, travel to and from games, paid referees, coaches etc. and even though only 14 boys made the basketball team hundreds of kids stayed after school t...
